10th MTA procedure carried out
Surgeons at North Hants Hospital, Basingstoke, and at Leicester Royal Infirmary, conducted further Acculis MTA system ablations over the last two weeks (21 April to 2 May 2008). This brings the number of commercial MTA treatments conducted since January to 11.
Treatments have also been conducted in Manchester and Liverpool. Clinical data associated with the treatments is being centralised and will allow detailed assessment. Initial feedback indicates decisive rapid coagulation of target areas and the extreme ease of use is a major advantage surgeons are observing. The number of patients treated is expected to grow rapidly as all 14 initial sites come online.
