International Launch of Acculis Microwave Tissue Ablation System for the Coagulation of Soft Tissue

Acculis Limited, the leading UK microwave ablation system company, today announced the international release of their pioneering Microwave Tissue Ablation system for the coagulation of soft tissue in open surgery. The FDA 510(k) cleared device is the first microwave ablation system to offer large fast spherical ablations from single needle placements, superseding the performance of lower power RF or other current microwave ablation systems.

Multi million dollar funding package for Acculis Limited microwave cancer treatment

Acculis Limited has finalised a multi million dollar funding package to complete commercial development of the needle probe version of its recently launched MTA high power microwave coagulation system. The funding has been secured from private equity sources in the USA.
First USA use of MTA at Saint Raphael

Scott Helton, M.D., chief of surgery at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, New Haven, Connecticut, an internationally recognized liver surgeon, became the first in the USA to use the new Acculis microwave cancer-fighting technology to destroy liver tumours.
10th MTA procedure carried out

Surgeons at North Hants Hospital, Basingstoke, and at Leicester Royal Infirmary, conducted further Acculis MTA system ablations over the last two weeks (21 April to 2 May 2008).
